The Order of the Sacred Scythes have made it their duty to patrol the shadowy roads and paths of Eastern Part of their Sector.  Long and mysterious is their history, with most of the Company house records kept under lock and key. Rumors abound that the Order has tainted bloodlines of ill-repute — but no one knows for sure. What is known about the Scythes is that they are well-versed hunters of the Daemons.  They tirelessly root out possible Daemonic threats, cults, and any who would serve such a dark master.

As the Scythes deal mainly with creatures of the warp and the dark gods, their methods are widely considered unorthodox and often downright improper. Most of the neighboring sectors openly despise the Sacred Scythes and do not welcome them on their planets or in their systems. This distrust is not entirely unfounded. Such is their fervor to destroy the daemonic forces, that more than one hive city has been left burnt to the ground and smoldering in the wake of a Sacred Scythe "Tribunal."

Encased in Grey armor, the Sacred Scythes are frightening to encounter on a lonely road after dusk. However, unbeknownst to the common people of the land, the Scythes perform a very real and useful service to the Imperium. Their secret doings help keep the Imperium from toppling into a land of blight and terror.

All Sacred Scythes are armoured in Mark VII or VIII few older styles are seen in the army as obsolete and are put on display or sent back to Mars in exchange for newer armours.  All members of the First Company have their Terminator Armours painted Gold in recognition of their status in the First Company.  All Veterans in normal Power Armor wear Golden Helmets.  Instead of a hand held bolters they are wrist mounted smilar to that of the Grey Knights, only the Veterans wear storm bolters.
